Scientific and Policy Officer

George studied biology in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He then pursued a research career and holds a Ph.D.in biochemistry/molecular biology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. After leaving his post-doctorate research work, he joined the Cosmetics team of DG GROW. As a scientific and policy officer George is contributing to a number of files relevant to cosmetics including, but not limited to endocrine disruptors, nanomaterials, preservatives, colorants and UV-filters, as well as fragrances and alternative methods to animal testing. George represents the European Commission in numerous consultations and meetings for cosmetics and supports the Cosmetics team on scientific and technical issues.
